We two parties signed below are pleased to announce a collaborative initiative between the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy (CPSP) and the Health Care Chaplaincy Network/Spiritual Care Association (HCCN/SCA). Both organizations have engaged in discussions aimed at fostering a strategic partnership that will enhance the fields of Clinical Pastoral Training and the discipline of Clinical Chaplaincy.
As a significant step in our collaborative journey, CPSP and SCA have mutually agreed to participate actively in each other’s annual conférences in the spring, fortifying our commitment to serious and candid dialogue, shared learning, and professional growth.
Working together collaboratively as much as possible will be far more promising and undoubtedly more fruitful than working as isolates competitively. We hope to set a model for all pastoral clinicians of every religious community. Together, in whatever ways we can be together, we believe we can be stronger and more effective.
SCA has graciously accepted an invitation to actively participate in the CPSP Annual Plenary Gathering scheduled for March 17–21, 2024. Similarly, CPSP will be participating at the April 15-17, 2024, meeting of HCC/SCA, where it will offer speakers and/or seminars leaders.
This collaborative involvement underscores our joint commitment to creating synergies between the distinct but complementary perspectives of both organizations.
By engaging in each other’s conferences, CPSP and SCA aim to cultivate an ongoing spirit of collaboration, knowledge exchange, and mutual professional support within the broader community of Pastoral and Spiritual care professionals. This initiative reflects our shared dedication to advancing the field and enriching the experiences of those involved in Clinical Pastoral Training and Clinical Chaplaincy.
We look forward to fruitful outcomes of our collaboration, and to welcoming representatives from both organizations at our respective conferences.
